I began working in mental health almost 15 years as a Primary Care Mental Health Worker (PCMHW) initially offering guided self-help and brief CBT interventions for ‘common’ mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. I saw the value of this work and how effective the CBT based interventions were that I went on to complete my post-graduate CBT training at The University of York, becoming an Accredited CBT Therapist in 2010. I began my private practice in 2017, working full time seeing clients one-to –one at my clinic based at Clifton Moor. I have also worked as a Sessional Therapist at The Tuke Centre and Associate Therapist for IESO Digital Health offering online therapy.
I have also completed training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for Depression and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing)
Through my experiences I have been able to see how effective CBT can be in helping people. I believe it gives people a solid basis for understanding the difficulties they face.
